How can I practice mindfulness in my skincare routine?

Your skincare routine is a perfect opportunity to practice a scientifically backed practice - Mindfulness. Mindfulness supports our parasympathetic nervous system and helps us bring a feeling of calm, simplicity and relaxation into our day. It communicates to our body and brain that we are safe and we can relax, to pause and be still. Take a moment or plan some time in your day to use this video as a guide on a mindful moment while you go through your skincare or plan another time where your intention is to slow down, and take some time to relax using a face oil or serum.


Mindfulness practices work with our 5 senses - sight, touch, smell, taste and hearing. We can use our skincare routine to cultivate this habit, since skincare is a sensorial experience.


Mindfulness has greatly helped me recover from burnout and depression so is a subject I am passionate in sharing with others. It reduces stress and anxiety, helps us to regulate emotions, reduces negative thoughts and I love how it allows us to declutter the mind, giving our thoughts space to breathe and allowing us the opportunity to pause and catch up with ourselves.

What better way to show ourselves some kindness and compassion by looking after our mind and our skin at the same time.
